We owe Mark, Sachi's brother, a huge debt of gratitude for everything he's doing for us while we're gone. First and foremost, he's taking care of our dog and our house. Actually, I should say that he taking care of part of our house.
You see, he hasn't quite embraced yardwork. As we learned yesterday, he recently mowed our front yard- FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE OUR DEPARTURE 160+ DAYS AGO.

Poor dog, our Amos. Mark said that he stopped going into the front yard because the grass was so high. We have our fingers crossed for more lawn mowing this summer, lest our neighbors stop talking to us forever.

I think grass should just break off when it gets to a certain height, like leaves falling from a tree or when Amos' hair gets long. I don't have to cut Amos' hair since it just sheds naturally. That's the grass I'm looking for. Maybe I'll invent a type of grass that gets to a certain height and stops. Who wouldn't love a maintenance-free yard? I bet you're thinking after seeing this picture... "where did all that grass go?" are you thinking that? Well.... the mower kinda shoots it out the right side, so i mowed left-to-right in order to keep shooting it more and more to the right. The pictures don't show it, but there's a wall of grass trimmings bunched up alongside the right edge of the front yard. I see this as mulch. Maybe when it dries out, I'll go out spend time re-spreading it across the lawn and build up the garden to be once again a respectable lawn neighbor in the community. eh.... probably not.
