Adventures with Poste Italianeby leelefever (General | home | humor | italy | milan) Sending packages home is how we manage to stay light, and usually it is not a problem. China, Vietnam and many other unexpected places make it a smooth, albeit paperwork laden, operation. Post From: Rome, IT

Use Swiss Post

You wonder if it will be easier to send your package from France... I have the answer: perhaps not as bad as Italy, but certainly costly, unfriendly and unreliable. As you breeze through Geneva tonight, take advantage of the Swiss reputation for clockwork organization. From any Swiss post office, your package will get home in no time, for a fraction of your typical Fedex cost. That's the joy of living on the border, we take the best of both worlds ;-) login or register to post comments by Anonymous (not verified) on November 2, 2006 - 11:20am

My cousin, who is getting married in southern Italy next year, said she faced a similar challenge but finally discovered a Mailboxes Etc that was able to "take the weight off" relatively painlessly. Might be worth a look! by leelefever on November 3, 2006 - 1:52am
We are visiting with JFG from the comment above and he greeted us at the train station only hours after I posted this. After the greetings, his first question was "So, would you like to send your package from here?". The Internets are amazing. :) |
