Until we leave Sachi and I have been trying to save money.  For months now, we've stopped acquiring "stuff".  No furniture, no gadgets, no clothes, no stuff that doesn't relate.  Lately we've taken it to a daily level and have tried to eat all meals at home and cut out the things like lattes.  We're not very disciplined, but it's making a difference.  We just can't resist a party sometimes though.

When describing this to my friend Ryan recently, he introduced me to a new term.  He said that he and his wife go through similar period and the call it a "monetorium".  You know, like moratorium, which is defined as:

"An authorized period of delay in the performance of an obligation."

So we're putting a monetorium on our spending.
