Folks, in what is true to our style of travel, we've arrived in Southern Thailand with no specific plans. The problem is an overwhelming number of options.

So, we figure this might be a good time to call on you, dear TwinF readers. We're hoping that you can help us figure out locations and accomodations for the next couple of weeks. We're trying to find a place to take a vacation from travel- we need a place to relax and do very little.

Newley Purnell and I have been online friends for a while, connecting on Flickr and through our blogs but had never really met until last night.

By pure chance, we happened to be arriving in Bangkok on the same day and last night the three of went out.

Newley is a Bangkok veteran compared to us and took us to a very cool bar called Saxaphone near Victory Monument. Live jazz, hip people, good drinks.

Newley seems like the kind of guy we'll be friends with for a long time and meeting him here is perfect timing. It was like meeting up with an old friend after weeks of feeling like strangers in the world. Good guy that Newley.

Every possible tourist activity falls into one (or in a few cases, several) of those categories.  Satisfaction comes from doing something that is more extreme and interesting and new in one of these six ways.  Tourist activities cost money, of course, and the amount you’re willing to pay is increased by what extent it fulfills one of the six categories (and correspondingly limited by the total amount of funds you’ve got at your disposal).
