What is a Feed?

Feeds save you time in reading websites like this one.  Knowing how to use a feed will enable you to subscribe to a web site like this one and be notified whenever something new is posted.  A "Feed" is the same thing as an "RSS Feed".

For example, the blog on the front page (Our Dispatches) has a feed, so it's possible for you to subscribe to that part of the site. As a subscriber, you don't have to come back to the site to look for new posts -- the new posts come to you when they are posted.

In order to subscribe to feeds, a special tool is required.  It's called an RSS Reader. They are usually free and often very addictive.  They consume what the site is feeding.

Here are two free and recommended options for RSS readers:

Once you have an RSS reader, you can go to many of your favorite sites and subscribe to them. By subscribing, you are setting up a system where you use the RSS reader to read new posts.  As new things are posted, the posts come to your RSS reader.

Subscribing to TwinF

If you want to subscribe to TwinF's feeds and you already have an RSS reader, it's easy.  The process of subscribing may differ between RSS readers, but the one thing that you will need is the URL for the feed.  It looks like a web site address.

For example, the feed address for Our Dispatches is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TwinfDispatches

You can find the RSS addresses by clicking the "site feed" buttons and copying the address that appears in the address bar of the browser.

You can also use these addresses for this sites basic feeds:
